James, who came to do the work, did a good neat job and explained how to use the new ladder well. I'm really pleased we went for the wooden ladder because of the ease of opening and closing the spring-loaded hatch and how much easier it is to climb than our old metal ladder.

However when I tried to do it myself (I'm about 5 foot 2, 158cm) it definitely wasn't easy and even felt vulnerable as I had to lift more than half the weight when folding up. Need to practice but I'm not getting taller or younger!
